In Cascadia College’s IT Infrastructure Operations – Server Administrator Certificate pathway, you will learn the foundational skills necessary to support data networks; troubleshoot and repair computer systems for end users; design and implement a variety of network infrastructures; design, install, configure, and optimize server environments to provide high availability for data networks; develop procedures and processes to manage server security and integrity for data centers; plan logical network designs for multiple site topologies; practice building networks with routing and switching equipment; implement and control data communication with routing protocols and securities in Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructures; and learn how to work in group environments by managing and facilitating projects.
Modalities
Coursework may be completed through a combination of in-person (web enhanced), hybrid and online modes, though not every course is offered in the same modality each quarter. Specific courses may be offered at certain times of the year. Consult the current Class Schedule.
Placement
Many courses at Cascadia College have placement prerequisites for reading, writing and math ability. The courses that you will place into determine how you progress through your pathway and how long your degree will take. There are a variety of ways to find your English and Math placement level.

Dedicated Academic Advisor: Students in the IT Infrastructure Operations Program have access to a dedicated IT academic advisor. Your advisor will help you develop the skills to make academic and career pathway decisions. Through advising, your advisor will support you to make connections between academic interests, long term goals, and career opportunities. The IT advisor will assist with education planning, internship and career planning, and graduation processes.

Transfer Opportunities
Associate in Science Transfer Track 2, Pre-Engineering Major Related Program (MRP) Other (Mechanical/Civil/Aeronautical/Industrial/Materials) Science) Cascadia's Associate in Science Track 2, Pre- Engineering MRP Major-Related Program (part of the Direct Transfer Agreement) prepares you to transfer to a four-year college or university in a variety of engineering majors. Engineering is a broad field; one course of study will not prepare you for study in all the sub-disciplines in the field. Cascadia therefore offers three different “pathways” of study within the Associate in Science in Engineering degree.Cascadia College, Professional and Technical Programs
Career possibilities from the certificate are based off of the assumption that students have existing experience or work history related to this field. Certificates may compliment or build upon existing work or veteran experience. For those without industry experience, a degree will yield best job placement outcomes.
